- In the meeting area, the instructor shows a QR code. Six pupils scan it and they're in the group before boots are clipped in. Some have iPhones and some have Android phones.
- Phones go into zipped pockets, locked. The instructor's Flic 2 button is clipped to her jacket chest strap.
- She follows the group down, holding the button: "Sam, look up, not at your tips." Sam corrects it on the very next turn.
- The group spreads out. "Everyone stop at the blue sign on the left." They do, without anyone waiting at the top.
- Before the lift: "Poles in one hand, pair up, Jo and Priya first." No huddle needed.
- Last run: she talks the group through the drill while they ride it, not afterwards.
Hands-free, instant voice for your whole lesson group, wherever there's signal on the mountain.
Coach every turn, not just the ones at the bottom. Talk to pupils from any distance across the slope, wherever there's mobile signal, indoors or at the resort. Phone in your pocket, Joiin button on your strap.
Most coaching happens at the regroup point, after the moment has passed. With Joiin, instructors can talk to the whole group while pupils are riding, gloves on and phones zipped away.
Shouting doesn't carry, and stopping costs lesson time.
Feedback arrives too late
"Weight on the downhill ski" lands best mid-turn, but pupils can't hear you 30 metres away over wind, lifts and music.
Groups spread out
Faster riders push ahead and nervous ones hang back. Keeping everyone together means lots of stopping and waving.
Busy slopes need clear calls
Lift queues, crossing pistes and crowded indoor slopes are where you most need the group to hear you the first time.
An improvers' group on a Saturday morning
An example of how one instructor could run a two-hour group lesson for six adult improvers.
Simple enough for a first lesson.
- Pupils join by tapping a link, entering a code or scanning a QR code. There's no account admin at the meeting point.
- Instructors hold to talk and release to mute, so pupils hear instruction, not breathing and wind.
- Works with phones locked in pockets, on iPhone and Android in the same group.
- Suits indoor slopes and resorts with mobile coverage, with no Wi-Fi or radios to set up.
- A Club licence covers your instructor team, with Flic 2 buttons included in the Club Kit.
Good to know
Every pupil who wants to listen needs a phone with the Joiin app. Joiin uses mobile data, so it works anywhere the phones have signal.
Coming soon An off-grid mode for areas with no mobile signal is in development. Tell us on the pilot form if it matters to you.
Joiin supports your teaching and doesn't replace your school's safety procedures.
